Carrera 30828 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR weird problem, had this car couple months and it runs very nicely, but last week had some weird speed issues. Car was paired/bound to DRS controller and ran great on my new Carrera digital layout. Also paired it with Truspeed controller several times, liked DRS better, so had it paired for couple weeks and running great. Last week seemed like after deslot it was hesitant to go for a second or two, then took off and ran fine. Didn’t always do this, only sometimes, seemed like no particular reason, thought maybe the digital chp was going bad?

I keep braids clean and properly adjusted, track/tires clean, oiled bushings but not excessive. Running it magnet free with rear magnet holder filled with tungsten putty, maybe 4-5 grams.

Late night definitely did it several times. Paired it with Truspeed controller again and was fine, then paired it again with the DRS controller and it was also fine! However it’s now way faster than it was before, had to turn down speed setting to 60% and it’s still great acceleration and top speed. Anybody else has this?

I don't know what it is but I can say that sometimes after a deslot it seems like the chip loses all memory. The speed is maxed and the brakes are gone. Have to reset everything all over. It is weird. I can't speak for the controllers.

When you say paired are you swapping controllers into the same port or is one controller in port 1 and the other in port 2? If so, you might have accidentally adjusted the speed and/or braking settings on one of the controller positions. I've done this many times when testing and forgot I turned the speed down on a car while in position 2. I know the DRS is wired but is your Truspeed wired or wireless? I had Truspeed controllers for Scalextric digital and loved them! I've never owned a DRS controller but I understand they are great too.

I'm not sure what you are experiencing Carlos, but it doesn't really work that way. The controller positions don't have speed or brake settings assigned to them. Car chips do. When you use the 'Speed' button on the CU to adjust the speed of cars, it will change the stored maximum speed value in the chip of any car on the track. While the CU will remember the last speed you set, that setting won't have any effect on cars that were not on the track at the time. If you use software to set a car's speed (which is the only way you can set the speed of an individual ID), any car on the track with that ID will have it's internal max speed changed. But that setting won't magically apply if you place a different car on the track and code it to that ID. Similarly, changing a car's ID will not change it's speed setting. All of this applies equally for brake settings.

Fuel settings are the only one's that stick to the controller ID, rather than the car chip. That's because the CU tracks fuel usage, not the car.

Hey Bruce, maybe it was the other way around. I do know that several times I've put a car on the track and been disappointed about it's speed or braking, only to realize it was because I slowed it down for testing. I always get the chip vs CU setting confused.
