  • Can you install two Lap Counter 30355

Can you install two using the input in the back of the unit to support the other unit? Mirror the other unit. Would like to have a separate driver station.

I'm surprised no one has given you an answer yet. Having never had one I don't know and the manual is no help. Someone will chime in.

Sorry for the slow response...I'm pretty sure that you can't use two. I was trying to dig through the archives and see if I could get some more info.

To be honest, with the PC based HSSRMS and the SmartRace App very few new users are using the standalone lap counters. I got into Carrera Digital in 2013 and have had the PC based HSSRMS system from the beginning. The 30355 doesn't support Sector timing or integrate the fuel display like PC & AppConnect based systems do. Trying to find a good current place where this is described for the newbie..maybe I need to spend some time putting something together

just FYI this is a screen shot of my PC based HSSRMS system

Thanks for the info. I’ve been using SmartRace, but I wanted something simple to use when I’m just running cars.

Also, HSSRMS allows for cell phones and tablets to be used as remote driver displays.

Since you are using digital , wouldn't all of that be on the computer screen itself ? And why would you need two ? Only asking because I have the Scaletrix ARC system , and you can run 6 cars at one time

There are times I want to keep things simple, not turning computers or IPads on to run laps. This way I will have both.

I have a similar need. I use the PC when the adult kids are over for racing. For my little ones, I unplug the PC and connect the Carrera timing unit.

Thanks for the feedback Tony & JTK - I can see wanting something simpler to use sometimes- Didn't mean to hijack your question, just I wasn't sure of what you had tried or were aware of..

I leave my PC & HSSRMS on all the time so it's always ready when I want to run a couple laps - i kill the monitor when I shut down - definitely an easier thing with PC than ipad/SmartRace

I'll dig up what I can find in the archives on the 30355 lap counter possibilities - i have some 30342's that I had used for sector timing before the Check Track came out

Tony, I see in your track picture you have the TekSlots modified CU - Is that all wired in side the box & back cover or are the wires broken out to facilitate doing power taps? I had Joe build my TekSlot CU with a remote mount for the box with a terminal strip to facilitate jumper breakout

Here's a pic of my TekSlot modified CU Click image for larger version Name:	2020-10-19 01.19.19.jpg Views:	1 Size:	5.47 MB ID:	59323 Click image for larger version Name:	2020-10-19 01.19.19.jpg Views:	1 Size:	5.47 MB ID:	59322

I like that setup. Good point on the computer. I had one my wood track and never really used the thing. Maybe It will make an appearance again
