SCANC - Slot Car Addicts of North Carolina

Slot Car Addicts of North Carolina (SCANC) has a loose "membership" of eight guys. We have 7 routed mdf tracks in close proximity. Two of those tracks can accommodate both 1/32 and 1/24 scale cars. Five of them are right here in Winston-Salem only minutes apart. The other two are less than an hour's drive from here. There are no dues and we welcome all racers so if you're in the area send one of us a PM.

OUR CIRCUITS:

1) SLOTZUKA ~Owned and financed by Modernslots. Built by Leadfinger and Fast Co. SlotZuka is a 77' four-lane routed mdf track with 3.75" lane spacing. We race both 1/32 and 1/24 here. Located in Winston-Salem, NC










2) WOODLAND TRACE RACEWAY ~ Built and owned by Fast Co. The Trace is an 80' four-lane routed mdf track with 3.5" lane spacing. Located in Winston-Salem, NC












3) BENT TREE RACEWAY ~ Owned by Modernslots. Bent Tree is a 90' four-lane CNC-routed mdf track with 4" lane spacing. Located in Winston-Salem, NC.










4) OLD FART INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY (OFI) ~ Owned by Modernslots. OFI is a 65' four-lane routed mdf track with 3.5" lane spacing. This one is co-located in the same commercial space in Winston-Salem that houses SlotZuka.





5) BUENA VISTA MOTORSPORTS PARK ~ Owned and financed by MSeitz. Built by MSeitz and Fast Co. Buena Vista Motorsports Park is a 55' four-lane routed mdf track with 3.5" lane spacing. Located in Winston-Salem, NC










6) LEADFINGER RACEWAY ~ Built by Leadfinger. Recently sold to ApexBomber. Leadfinger Raceway is a 55' three-lane routed mdf track with 3.5" lane spacing. Located in Summerfield, NC





7) SLOTKINS GLEN ~ Built and owned by Choke05. Slotkins Glen is a four-lane routed mdf track with 3.5" lane spacing. Located in Lexington, NC

I keep saying that the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce is missing an opportunity to promote themselves as a 1:32 slot car hobbyists’ retirement wonderland. Sure, we’ve got affordable housing, cutting edge healthcare, a fine symphony, arts and multiple universities. But where can you find this many tracks and a weekly racing program in one area?

BTW, we have a big event coming up next weekend. Several of our good friends are driving up from Atlanta arriving on Friday afternoon, the 28th. We'll be racing until they depart sometime on Sunday afternoon, the 30th. Come join us! Short notice, I know. But we can provide loaners for you if you don't have cars built to spec.

I have had the pleasure of racing with some of the SCANC members when they would visit the tracks of North Atlanta. SCANC is a great group of slot racers and fun to visit with. And obviously they have a great track rotation to enjoy in their North Carolina area. Great tracks!

Whats your racing schedule and rules? I'd be especially interested in any enduro or feature race.

We're currently racing on Monday nights, usually from about 7 pm until 9 pm. Doors open a few hours earlier for guys who can get there and test and tune their cars.

We don't normally host enduro events. Almost always we do 3 minute heats. We normally have 6 - 8 guys racing on any given night.

Once a year the guys from Atlanta come up and race with us for a weekend - test and tune on Friday evening, racing all day Saturday and racing a half day on Sunday. And once a year we make the trip down to Atlanta to race on their tracks. We haven't done that in a while because of Covid.
