Packing up over the next few weeks and moving south to a small city on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Should be a nice change from the bright lights and big city life of Tokyo. Hopefully I will have some room to set up a permanent or at least a table top layout.

It really is the rainy season now, and Kumamoto has been hit hard. Torrential doesn't describe what 5 or more days of continuous rain is. We are headed near there in Sasebo, Nagasaki. There have been some mudslides and limited flooding but not nearly as bad. We are still in Tokyo until the end of the month, and we hope that the rainy season will stop so we can just simply enjoy hot and humid weather.

Drove 1200+ KM on Friday, from Tokyo to Nagasaki. Great weather, not much traffic and about $230.00 toll fee. In a hotel now looking for a place to live. Hopefully with a room for a semi-permanent track. The floor just doesn't cut it anymore.

WOW! Good luck with all of that! I'll never complain about tolls again!

What kind of work do you do over in Japan?

The tolls take some getting used to, but it's really reasonable for a family when compared to two or more tickets on the train or airfare. I work for the DOD schools.

Six years in the Navy & never made it to Japan.....Would sure like to........Good luck on the move

Being in the Tokyo area I'm sure you've heard of the "World Famous" Kyoto Tachibana High School Marching Band.
You better not leave Japan without catching a performance.

I lived in Nara for a time building homes after the Kobe quake. I loved it.
