  • Checking in and wishing all well

We are all going through a very strange and different time to say the least.

I hope that all of you are well and have all you need.

Most of us have plenty of projects and things we can do. We always have

Anyway...just wanted to say I hope all of you are safe and well. If I can do anything for anyone, just contact me by PM or email.

So far so good for the slot community. .... No time for politics,,,,, lets all just follow the guidelines and try to keep this from blowing up overnite..... We need the longer slower expansion so our med resources can handle it. ....Maybe in 4-6 months this will be a non issue.

Great advice and thank you for the kind thoughts, right back at ya'all!

A special thought to all our slot car buddies and suppliers in Italy, there are many slot car products that come from that part of the world, thinking of Slot.It/Policar, Revo, BRM and many more! A big virtual hug to you all.

Stay safe and take very good care.

Strange and eerily quiet here - it's somewhat ironic that I've spent more time talking to my neighbors (while everyone is out walking to get exercise and fresh air) in the last week than the previous 20 years I've lived here.

          Be safe everyone.

just had a interesting read on the good old internet saying that Copper Destroys Viruses and Bacteria.Today, we have insight into why a person handling copper day in and day out would have protection from a bacterial threat: Copper is antimicrobial. It kills bacteria and viruses, sometimes within minutes. In the 19th century, exposure to copper would have been an early version of constantly sanitizing one's hands. so get to scratch building some brass chassis.

Everyone needs to stay busy and occupied so as to not go batty! Get plenty of fresh air, stay hydrated, be diligent and use good judgement. Good luck to all!

I just lost a long post about being pesssimistic....stay online and read, ,,,,,,,watch and talk slot cars with all of us......watch the youtube series of interviews with "the surfers" some young guys that ventured into drag racing in the early 60's. ...long series and a great interview with one of the main guys........ discuss how we started in slots, ,,,,,,what we do today. .... we'll all get back to some kind normal sooner or later.

Safe in South Florida. My county is Palm Beach County, #3 in Florida for positive cases, behind Broward (Fort Lauderdale) and Dade (Miami). My wife and I are staying in the house and on the back porch, only go out for groceries and any doctor appointments (scaling these back). I have before me three white kits (Sideways DP, Slot it Porsche 911 GT1 and Scaley Porsche 911GT3R) and there are a bunch of old under-performing cars waiting for some help (hacking). I'll probably go poor ordering parts for hop ups. Club racing suspended for now, thankfully no one is ill at this moment.

                      Stay safe

I don't engage in social media and am not interested in general Internet dribble, but being able to connect in positive ways like on this forum are heartwarming. Times like this reveal the basics of human nature and provide an opportunity for all of us to live out our notion of being a good person.

As we engage in our hobby remember we may be able to support each other in important ways. If someone needs an odd part or whatever for a project let us know. I have a lot of stuff in bins and boxes I'll never use and if it would be of use to you it's yours. A few weeks ago I bought a bunch of Strombecker bodies from a forum member at a great price and when I posted about wanting an MRRC chassis for a build another member sent me one.

Also, regarding the businesses that are HRW supporters lets do what we can to ensure they stay afloat. No specific plan here, but I'm willing to get on board with any good ideas.
