It was posted on the wall at Le Mans Automodelismo (Curitiba, Brazil) and seems to have been made by Murilo Ferri years ago.

I was once referred to as belonging to a "sub-culture" by a non slot car hobbyist friend. But, they were saying it as a cool thing (I hope ).

Agreed. Very few know what I spend on hobby stuff but I assume it's thought of as a childish waste of money. That said I will admit to having very nice toys, as I would have liked to have when I was a kid. As the saying goes, "The only difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys".

Absolutely, guys. Why do I put ball bearings in my cars? Because I couldn’t afford to as a kid. I’m safe from a spouse’s raised eyebrow and stern look because her horse eats more in a month than I spend on toy cars.
