Well guys it was right around this time a year ago that I started racing with our local club on Thursday nights. The Northwest Association of Slot Track Enthusiasts (NASTE.org) is just an awesome group of guys!
Since then I have joined forums, started proxy racing, done a 24hr race, and also taken up 1/24 racing recently.
There are some real challenges facing this hobby, as a newcomer finding good information can be hard. I have done my best to share knowledge here, on youtube, and facebook. I appreciated the valuable insights the veterans here have given me, BrumosRSR, ChrisguyW, Audi1, F1fan all included. Please continue to share and encourage new participation. I consider myself the "next generation" of slot car enthusiast, as I am only 33....but still the youngest guy at the track most of the time.
My career is in motorsports, and I spend most of my time tinkering at home on cars rather than watching tv or what have you nowadays. It takes a fair amount of time commitment to get the most out of the hobby for me, but I welcome the challenge as learning new tricks is rewarding.
Anyway, I find it challenging, relaxing, and just plain fun!
My 1/32 collection after a years time.....all of them bought for racing, proxy research, or a couple just because they were too good a deal to pass up!
