  • Carrera 917/30 chassis?

Hi guys. Has anyone created a good race-able chassis for the Carrera 917/30? Something that would take a std or slim Slot.it pod is ideal. I've seen one on Thingiverse, but was hoping to see another option if there is one. I'd like to purchase a printed ready to install chassis if possible. If that's not the purpose for this forum, no worries, I'll keep looking.

    Thanks in advance.

I've a Slot. It HRS chassis under mine. It was pretty easy to do.

A quick Google search turned up two chassis on Shapeways, plus one by Amato chassis (which, for some reason, is only available direct and not through Shapeways). Olifer does not list a chassis for this car.

Oh sorry I meant to say I saw one on Shapeways. That Slottolution is the only one I saw there Redlynr. I'll have to look for the Amato one.

What’s the attraction to the Carrera Porsche 917/30 for proxy racing? Just curious. It is a very nice looking car.

Wide. Also very sharp looking. I have the Carrera Sunoco version which looks similar to the new NSR 908/3. It's quite heavy so it'll be interesting to see how it works once I have a good chassis under it.

Yup, it's pretty.....and heavy. Put the body on a scale.....unless you put brass/wire with a big motor under there it's just too heavy.
Even our 3DP cars are in the 20-22g range, more like a light resin body but nowhere near the light weight of an injection molded PETG body.
