I recently returned to using my 3d printer and upon checking out the current PrusaSlicer (2.3.3) I discovered the addition of "Paint-on Supports" as a feature. There's a good video on the usage here:

TL;DR - Painting on supports so you're just using supports where you're sure you need them is pretty nice, versus leaving the program to add supports willy-nilly to everything. Presumably this means less support material cleanup once the print is done.
