Power Tap Wire

Hi everyone! I want to run a power tap from the power base to a section of track that lacks umph. Because of the way the layout is set up, it will be a considerable distance - @ 40 feet or so. What size wire should be used??? The power supply is around 14 volts.

I use 14 gauge Romex cable. It's a bit stiff and hard to work with, though. I am not an electrician and don't have a lot of experience with DC, but the power supply may be a factor. The longer the distance, the greater the resistance, so amperage will drop. I would suggest a 10 amp power supply.

I would think 14ga. THHN would work fine.

Cheap, multi stranded, flexible.
