New slot.it crown gears?

Just opened a new slot.it JagXJR12 code CA13e and found this crown gear that seems to have been given a black coating in the groove. Friction reducing, I assume. Anyone have further Info?


Also greased at the factory!

They put teflon (sometimes black) on some frying pans to stop steak sticking. Maybe it works for gears too.

Just looks like a slight over-application of black molybdenum grease.
