Thunderslot Mclaren Elva in the paint booth!
First shot of Gold Metallic is going on smooth as silk! Not the Gold I was hoping for,
ALREADY TOO FAR INTO IT! Primered with white. Then light coat of Silverleaf to make the gold metallic pop. Its darkened up a little bit. Not going to fret about it not being the ‘exact’ color of the original. The Pattos decals will look good, give it some character. It’ll look good going around the track at speed!

Hi Scott, I know it is a bit late in the day, but, Tamiya TS-75 (Champagne Gold) is a good match for the McLaren in the livery you have chosen.......anyone else contemplating this livery, may want to try TS-75.

        Cheers
        Chris Walker

This is TS-75 on an old Aurora McLaren M12.

I did 2 or 3 cars in that Champagne Gold before I got the hang of it. Along the way, I learned that golds and silvers don't like Future. That's when I finally gave in and started using a clearcoat. It looks like you learned that lesson very well. Gorgeous paint job.

I did learn that lesson many years ago..............other than for windshields (it is really good !!), and a few detail bits, I am not a fan of Future for slot car bodies.

Certainly not a Chris Walker masterpiece! But dang nice for this old shaky handed blind fart! Now where’s your confounded head Elvira?!

Thanks! My white Testor’s dried up, so have to wait until tomorrow, uh today, to get some more to paint the face. It’s race day here, so first things first.

intakes look crooked. but they match the nose.
                            nice work!
