  • Revell 1/32 1957 Ford

I figured the 57 Chevy needed a running mate. The same weathering techniques I used on the 57 Chevy were used on the Ford. Body is sitting on a stretched Artin chassis. It is powered by a MT-1 motor and Quick Slicks mounted on Scalextric ford Torino wheels give it some traction . I also added a bit of weight to the chassis. The body is painted with Testor's Grabber Green and a very light mint green though it shows up as a off white in the pictures. The kit interior is modified to fit the inline motor but keeps the full front bench seat and driver figure.

Nice "barn find", Jeff! That's quite the pair - they look great on the track!

                Fantastic color combo there!

Diorama with the rusty frame excellent!

                Story telling a bonus!

That Ford looks like a typical northern "rust bucket" Nice job on its weathering.

                  These look great.

All you need now is to retro-fit an old Lionel locomotive "smoke burner unit" so they blow blue smoke as they go 'round the track.

Those cars have to be the best detailing of an old car that I have ever seen. I recently bought a 57 Ford and also a 57 Chevy to convert into slot cars. I could only hope they will turn out as interesting as these cars.

Are the bodies available in 1:32 scale? What about a Plymouth or Dodge from the same years?

They are old Revell kits. Check ebay. I believe someone repops them in resin on there.
