  • AMT 1963 Stingray

Got a start on this AMT reissue. Using an EJs Hobby chassis. Have the base color on, used Model Air medium yellow and surface primer. Details and next coat of paint and gloss still need to be added. I have managed to pick up most of these 1/32 AMT reissues. Think they will all be nice conversions to slot cars.

Great start on your build. Not too many yellow Stingrays around.🙂
The AMT Corvette bodies are mostly one piece making conversion to a slot car easy. EJ’s chassis even reminds me of the early Monogram kits.

    Two of my first scratchbuilts.

I found mine at Hobby Lobby and used their weekly 40% off any one item coupon. A steal!

Hi Mickey, with a few minor mods, Ed (the "E" in Ej's) copied the Monogram chassis. He also did a Strombecker brass chassis repro. Both benefit from a few wire braces here and there.

Your corvette looks good. Agree with the others, the AMT kits make for a nice 1/32 conversion.
in the last couple months i have completed both the AMT Corvette and Ford Ranchero.

Look forward to following your progress with your build.

      thanks,

      Mike

GREAT choice on that yellow !!!

Need to remember that choice on my next build.

a color that always looks fast standing still!

There's a MRRC split window body floating around here somewhere that needs a paint job and chassis. Thanks for reminding me. That yellow does look good too.
