My Mirage M2 coupe build body has been a disaster with the paint in a number of spots, inside and outside, still wet after almost two months. I knew better when noticing a wetness not long after the body was cast and supposedly cured. Should have junked the body right then and there. Pretty sure I got the A and B mix proportions wrong.

An opportunity for a re-body, so this time I'd build a spyder configuration, the M3.
Grabbed another coupe body in the parts bin, got the saws and knives out along with styrene sheet and Tamiya putty...

...and got this, a reasonable open cockpit representation.
Sanded and puttied a lot and got the body good enough for a casting master.

First cast came out well.

After trimming of flash, it's a nice lightweight 16 grams.
Mounted the body, tri-post, onto the coupe's chassis...

...and paint finished in a phantom Gulf livery, Tamiya TS-15 Blue, Tamiya TS-51 Racing Blue and Tamiya TS-12 Orange.

Detailed with a constructed interior driver tray and engine induction detail, the latter being incorrect but at least the void is filled. Recently found online pics gives me a better idea of what needs to be modeled.
The re-body worked out well, so we're good.
