I decided to rework an old casting I had made up of a Ferrari 350 I had done. My original was based on a P4, and it never looked quite right. After doing so more reading I discovered Ferrari had in fact made the 350 Wider for Can Am competition. So that pretty much uncovered the error of my first attempt.
With new information in hand I set about the task of widening the body.
I wanted this car to be in the stable of Proxy cars that I may send to the 2021 Can Am proxy and therefor it was built to the specs of that series.
For this I decided a sidewinder in a Brass and wire chassis with a pod would be utilized. I am always at the back of the pack and wanted to try and at least get a little closer. I am hoping a podded chassis of light weight and the right gearing might get me closer. With all the expected Thunderslots being entered I figured I needed to be better just to stay in last!
Here are the result of my work. I spent some effort on the interior layout and pretty much copied photos of the original car. Ultimately I wanted to contribute a car that was different from the expected McLarens and Lolas
.
