  • Avanti T/A Racer [Finished 4/7]

I figured it would be fun to build another Avanti. I had built one years ago on a Scaley Camaro chassis. The new one will be on a CG Slotcars Camaro chassis with a Slot it sidewinder pod. The body is out of the paint booth. More to come!

The first one I built some years ago.

Both paint schemes look very good .

I am Interested in following your technique for chassis mounting.
I built the AMT Avante a couple of years back and found shaping side blocks for body mounting the most challenging task with the side panels curling under.

Yes it is the reissue. The silver one is a original.

I worked on the interior a bit. The back seat was cut out to clearance the motor and I made a roll bar out of some brass rod. The chassis is coming along too.

It is finished and running laps! Body trim is done with chrome foil. I used CG Slotcars wheel inserts . The motor is a 18.000 RPM unit. Decals are from the model kit. This was a fun one to build!

Great that this kit is available to everyone at the hobby shops in our world and not just an eBay find!

then seeing what can be done with the kit like you have here, will motivate a lot of us to build one!!!
