As well as MRRC, Lindberg produced a few of the early 60's F1 cars, including the Porsche 804, the BRM P578 "stackpipe", the Lola Mk 1V, and the Ferrari 156 "sharknose". These tended to be a tad wider than scale, with some really "TALL" drivers, and their performance was not as good as the poorly performing MRRC's.
That said, prior to some of the newish releases of these bodies (Cartrix,Penelope Pitlane etc.) there was not a whole ton of options for anyone wishing to build decent looking early 60's F1 cars.
As I mentioned in the MRRC thread, our club has a class for early F1 cars (has had it for likely 10 years), so, the early MRRC's, Lindbergs, Monograms became our targets.
First up is the Porsche 804......Mr Gurney's car,..and while I am not a huge fan of the car, I was absolutely a fan of Dan's.
This is the original, ..not a bad overall shape, but the monster driver had to go, and with a few detail bits, it can turn out quite well.

A simple single rail chassis..............

And next,..... the BRM P578 "Stackpipe"
The original.............again, a bit wide, with "Lurch" behind the wheel.

Under construction........

And the finished car..............Mr. Ginther doing the driving duties.

The chassis is a soft flexing "Flexi Board",..and is identical to the one under one of my MRRC BRM's.........this car won the VRAA F1 proxy a couple of years back.
