  • Plymouth Barracuda [Finished 3/23]

Another wreck with some potential towed to the shop. This one sports a busted rear end and a fabulous mermaid painted on the hood! It is a old Monogram 1/32 kit, and is a old Aurora mold.

After a bath in some Super Clean.

It will join the growing school of fish! More to come.

    Cleaned up nicely.

Only 'Cuda that I have is the #42 Hot Wheels sponsored one released by SCX - but boy did they get that one right. Easily the best looking car in my Trans Am series even though I am a Mustang and Cougar guy.

Oh Yes, I too have "taken the bait" and are hooked on the Cuda!!

2 with Pioneer chassis and power to keep with the rest of the rest of T/A racers.

Plus a beater, to far gone to restore.

Look forward to seeing how you saved one more!!

        Oh no!
The last Pablo Picasso "Mermaid mural on fish car hood series" artwork sold for 1.2 million at Sothebys auction house in June 2019.

Those are neat cars, nice work too, got to get me one.

Wow, that looks great! But you at least need to put a small mermaid decal on the car somewhere as a nod to the cars origins.
Why doesn't my car run like that?

Either on the car or maybe sitting by a pool somewhere on your layout

I just picked one up, just as badly detailed on the interior and many other places as a Monogram '65 GTO I'm working on now , casting depressions/black holes and shifts galore but no big deal, I can handle it, yep. It has what look like Hurst wheels inserts?, to make a "Hemi Under Glass"?
I may give it a nautical paint job as an homage to the late (and much missed) Barra-Mermaid, how about SpongeBob on the hood?

                      Darn mermaid sympathizers!

Speaking of Hemi Under Glass. I have had this unbuilt kit for years!

I am using a Scalextric Camaro interior tub with part of the Barracuda interior grafted on to the rear. I made a roll bar out of some brass rod and a Scalextric driver figure. I am using a HRS chassis. Not wild about how far the guide sticks out the front though.
