An abandoned build came up recently on local Kijiji at cents on the dollar, so I snapped it up. This one would be a road-going version.

The already painted body was assembled and cut to accept one of my adjust-o-wheelbase chassis.

Cut, filed and drilled brass and piano wire pieces to prepare for soldering.

3/32" square brass - main rails and front axle supports
.064" x 3/4" brass plate - guide tongue and motor support cross members
.062" piano wire - front guide/axle assembly sliders
5/64" brass tube - guide tube to be bored out to 9/64" to fit Sloting Plus Universal guide
1/8" brass tube - front axle tube

Motor pod's my own 3D printed one.

Wheels are Cartrix M025 Classic 16.5 x 6mm shod with Paul Gage 22073 urethane tires.

Sprayed in a lighter red with Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red. Modeling details were painted with Tamiya acrylic - flat black, brown, flat white and aluminum.

Wheel inserts are kit's, cut down. Driver figure's a much modified Fujimi one.

Not overly fast but very smooth and driveable.

    Good outcome.

John Morton raced one of them while he worked for Shelby - before he started punting the Datto 510 around for BRE

I made one in 1/32 scale.

Now I will have to find one of the 1/24 kits

      really cool looking cars

      cheers

Embarking on another Tamiya kit conversion but didn't have the heart to cut up this built survivor.

So, got one of my unbuilt kits with the intention to include as much of the engine bay detail.

Built up the same chassis with same parts as previous renditions.

      Cut the body to fit.

Was good to have the built survivor kit around for reference.

Final paint (Tamiya TS-47 Chrome Yellow and TS-8 Italian Red) and assembly went well.

Yikes, looks like I lost a Weber carb horn along the way.

Quite pleased with the smooth running performance and modelling. Especially chuffed to incorporate the engine bay detail.

The open cockpit looks empty, so I've got a driver figure in the works.

      Otherwise, we're done.

Great slots - love the street version build. Makes me think you need a Patrick McGoohan driven version.

Reminds me of KAR 120C - would make for another great Lotus 7 build.

Went with a Fujimi kit girl driver figure. Didn't need much grinding to fit.

Staying on theme with the street car look.
