  • when to throw in the towel

I think it is a sign from above to throw in the towel on the gt3 atv build. was installing a new ball bearing pod and motor in the car found that the axile was rubbing the nsr motor, in my attempt to remove the motor I snapped the chassis and the new pod. threw every thing in a slot car box and tossed in the corner of the work room.. may or may not ever get back to it...

Uh, yeah, try doing it with my sausage fingers. I have a box half full of things like that. Don't toss it Doc, You may find yourself bored enough to dig it out one of these days.

did throw it away, that thing cost me 70 bucks plus all the time prepping and painting the 3d body. I'm just done messing with it for the time and before i get really po'ed and do something I would regret the next day

I know that I would keep it , never know what kind of parts you can use off of it at a later date . Maybe I am a hoarder , my dad was the same way , with him I think it was growing up in the Depression years , with me it is you never know

That is my idea with a white kit since I don't like to paint, I get them for parts cars.

I had a similar experience trying to build a brass frame for a Carrera DTM Audi that I wanted to put a long can anglewinder motor in. There just wasn't enough room to make a nice, clean simple frame and after several poor attempts I was ready to toss it. I used to make a lot of brass frames in the old days when I had 1/24th cars. I seem to recall I had a lot more room to work with.

Austin , as long as your dog doesn't eat any of the pieces , this way you don't have to take him/her to the hospital to get it removed

I feel your pain. I bent the shaft on my best motor trying to press a pinion on it. Then, like a dumb ass I did the same thing to my second best motor, before realizing that the pinion I was using was designed for use with a 1.5 mm motor shaft. I didn't even think I had any of those pinions in my box. I must have ordered the wrong ones at one point. My two best motors trashed.

I have a closet full of towels that I have thrown in. One day I will line them up and see what can be canablized.
I just hope I have time before it is too late.

Well, I have had what was diagnosed as pneumonia since early 1/2020. Well I finally went to the ER. I was only in the ER for about 20 minutes when I was sent to CICU. Back in 2003 I had a triple bypass. It seams that they had stopped up again. The local hospital, who can do cardiac surgery tried to put in three stints. No can do. I got sent to Washington MedStar.
To make a long, and I mean long, story short, they found a fourth arty blocked. Four major arties plugged. This all happened on April Fools Day.
I still have the lung problems. I will be going to a hospital with a Lung Clinic who thing all my other Doctors have their combined heads in their wall lockers and their wall lockers in their duffle bag.
I'll find out on 6/8 when I go under the CT machine for a fourth time in as many months.
                          YOU ASKED....
