Stan Lee Mustang

Stan Lee was a comic book artist who passed way last year. I've been a fan of his since he gave a talk at my college about the origins of superheros in comic books in response to WWII. While almost all of my slot cars are replicas of full size race cars, with the actual driver of that car assigned to it on my roster, I also have a few tribute cars.

This Mustang was built as a tribute to Stan Lee, a co-creator of many superheros including Captain America. The car is numbered 74 because Captain America's birthday is July 4th.

The car is a Revell SnapTite body mounted on a Pioneer Mustang chassis with Quick Slicks rear tires. The car qualified 3rd in a field of 19 cars. Way to go Stan!

That looks real sharp and in my opinion the mustang on the hood looks very fitting. 🎯

4424ever - I agree with you now that I've had a chance to look at the whole car. If I could easily remove the mustang and leave a complete red, white, and blue stripe on the hood I might do that, but I'm going to leave well enough alone and concentrate on giving it plenty of track time.

FYI - the numbers are from a sheet of Parma stickers I bought at Walt's Hobbies in NY. When traveling I try to hit as many hobby shops as possible.
