  • SCX vis-à-vis Scalextric: Mods Completed!

Those with a "trained eye" will appreciate the subtle change (..cough-cough...addition of SCX 'Cuda wheels...cough-cough...) to the Scalextric Challenger.

Next project is to 'lower" the Challenger's front end a bit. The Body sits too high on the Chassis.
    (aka the Cougar).

Ok...I think lowering the front part of the Posey Challenger's Body on the Chassis turned out OK.
Will do the same modifications listed here to the Red Challenger.

"Stock / Street" Challenger vs. "Lowered" Posey Challenger:

Next project is the front Axle.
The axle's "center line" is too far back in the wheel well. (Needs to be more centered...like the SCX.)
I incorporated a brass axle tube to reposition it.
This looks a bit better, IMHO...

Still some alignment tweaking needed, but pretty close to the goal.

I agree with the axle relocation. From the pictures the left side looks centered and the right side looks off. Was that your experience?

        Yes...agree.
        Subtle, but still noticeable.

Those are nice looking cars, but my favorite is still this one...

          Finished!

Lowered body and moved front axle forward.

          Stock vs. Modified.

That lower front end is a great improvement. Can you please post a photo of the modifications you made to lower the body? Thanks RvE

I lowered mine as well, and it looks much better.

Can you add a photo of front axle relocation? Im curious to try it, as it does look funky with the stock axle placement.

            Thanks
