My sympathies to John's friends, family and fellow club members. It's a saddening thing when we loose someone before their time.
I was looking at the collection lots, some very beautiful racers included there. I can't participate in the bidding, because as a now primarily HO racer, I already have too many 1/32 slot cars brand new on the shelves, just for eye candy. They are beautiful, and when anyone asks my advice as to what kind of model race cars they should look into collecting, I always reply with the following -- Forget the die cast stuff. Buy 1/32 scale slot cars, they're better detailed, retain their value, and can always be raced if you like! They take up much less space (and weight) on your shelves as well, especially as compared to the common 1/18 scale die cast cars.
Again, my condolences to all of the people who knew John. -- Ernie
