Did Ninco stop making the 80503 classic 20x7 rubber tires? I can't seem to find them anywhere.
Allan
Allan, these have not been made in years.......they do show up on epay fairly regularly, and a quick search shows that the "Armchair Racer" shop in OZ apparently still has some.
Both the Ninco 20 x 7 and the 21 x 9 tires were actually not that bad at all,....not the same level of grip as BRM's, NSR, etc., but on cars with 14 (ish)K motors they offered adequate grip. Our local clubs ran these tires for a couple of years on our 60's sports cars and 50's/60/s GP cars with no issues.
The tires that came on the Scaley Cooper, and their Ferrari 156 "Sharknose" were also not bad,....again, if you were using low powered motors, and not competing against NSR's/BRM's.
(Electric Dreams lists these Scaley GP tires as in stock, and both the fronts and rears will fit the same wheels as the Ninco Classic tires).
Both brands will respond to "treating" (we used them "dry") and while they are OK on the rear, they do make really nice narrow fronts !!
Have to agree. The old Ninco rubber were great tires. Slight truing and some NSR tire treatment, and they gripped nicely. Even though we have gone to silicone, I have bagged up all the Ninco tires for a rainy day!
I actually use them for fronts...……….haha! They're easy to profile, give me a slightly narrower 15x7 wheels size to work with and take over-coating well. I'm front end shopping with the 80503's.
Armchair Racer had them listed, but they are out of stock. So, off to ebay.
