  • Oscar, Elvis, & Charlie - My Thunderslot McLarens

Just my long winded thoughts on these latest cars. All of the tuning we already know I suppose, but maybe new folks might like it.

    This bear’s repeating!
Absolutely positively the BEST in depth video ever done on the ThunderSlot’s. Very well done, thank you!

Awesome video! Got my “Elvis” yesterday and couldn’t be happier. Loved the “spinout” comment in the video many thanks as well!

Another great video - thanks for making these.

When you tune your cars how do you decide whether to go with silicones or urethanes?

Depends on what tires you or your club/group run on your tracks.

        Thanks folks.

Around here it's just random most times. I TRY and mix things up and test different sizes and compounds for the reviews.
But I normally use silicones on models with aluminum wheels. Since the tires are designed for those specific wheels, they don't require sanding.
On odd size wheels like Carrera and older models with plastic wheels, PG is usually the choice so I can sand/contour to get them just right.

For our Showdown and other events I like PG. The tires give a little more drift for the oval cars.

Thanks, that makes sense. There are lots of quality castings in urethane, I don't see as many straight repro type detailed castings in silicone.

Again, I like the videos and I appreciated the time and effort put in!

There was a moment. . . a moment when you de-slotted, and you said "spin out", then a pause, then an "ahem" . . .

I see what you did there.

Yes that was me attempting humor. You are officially the only one who caught it so far
