  • Porsche 908-3 with paint

Well this is my first build of a car since I built my new track. I wanted a running mate for my Alfa T33, so I just had to have a Porsche 908-3. I Scratchbuilt a chassis using aluminum plate and a 3D pod. These pictures were taken for the first shakedown with the body attached

Also have been doing some more detailed scenery and laid down some static grass along the road edge. Built a bunch of advertising billboards as well

I will keep my fingers crossed with respect to a proxy. This is why I was pushing for something other then a 997 proxy.

This is an NSR body kit. It is powered by a Thunderslot motor though. I’m a trying to make my mind up on a BARC fantasy scheme, or going with an actual car. I was thinking of a white car with a red arrow with black trim done in a manner to similar to the gulf versions.

I probably asked this before, but what did you use for the silver guard rails in some of the photos?

The car is neat and the scenery is excellent!

The guard rails are HVAC flashing cut into strips, which I then “ roll” into shape using a braid roller and a routered wooden pattern.

Here are some pictures of the chassis. An aluminum plate with a spring dampened CG pod, slotting plus guide, CB wheels with wide PG urethane tires. Thunder slot 21.5 K motor

I laid a coat of paint on the Porsche, did some artwork for decals and applied same. Took some pictures on the Layout.

I need to find some inserts for the wheels, and then it will be finished.

From design to chassis to body to paint to decals, very nicely done. This demonstrates what is available and possible in the hobby today. A tip of the hat to you.

I ran a photo through some software and came up with this. I have done this in the past to make some art to hang up on the walls in the slot car room. Inexpensive way of getting subject orientated art.

I love this painted effect image!

Is the software a freeware and if so, please post a link.

                      Thanks.

I use Adobe Photo Shop, but I think MS Paint can do it as well.
