  • Recent Slot Projects

I've been upgrading some of my Fly, Monogram, and MRRC slots with Olifer chassis' and Slot.It and NSR running gear.

I started with these two ALMS type cars from the late nineties. Each has an inline Spanish King, Slot.It 9/25 gears and bushings, axles and wheels. Slot.It Zero grips up front and NSR super grips out back. NSR guide and braid. I have to admit I like the Viper a little better. Both cars are very smooth, but the Viper feels a little on edge in some corners, and thus feels faster. The Panoz is almost too easy to drive. The computer tells a different story - they run medians within 1/100th sec of one another and posted fast laps just /1000 sec apart!

Now I'm working on these two Sebring '65 era cars. The GS has an inline Spanish King, Slot.It 9/25 gears and bushings, front axle, wheels and zero grips, NSR rear axle, wheels and super grips. The Chaparral has an inline Flat-6 spinning at 19.3k with Slot it 9/26 gears and bushings and NSR rear axle, wheels and super grips, guide and braid. The Chaparral has a stock front end. Not quite finished with them yet, so I haven't run time trials.

Curious as to why you chose the Spanish King?

We run a class of cars where the Spanish King is the spec engine. When the 19.5k King was released, we upgraded to that so I had a few Spanish Kings on hand. I plan to build a few more cars to run against these on my track, but we don't currently race them as a class.

Wow, we must be running on the same wavelengths! Recently did a MRRC Chappy and Monogram GS Vette. Slightly different set ups. Nice work!

Yes, apparently we are! What chassis is that under the 2C? I'll have to post pics of my chassis later...
