  • Slow Car Fast

As someone once said, "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow." I think the same pertains to slot cars.

And so, a couple of NSR Spanish Kings are giving new life to these two front-engined Fly GT cars. Each car is outfitted with an Olifer 3D printed chassis, an NSR King, and Slot.It inline motor pod, pinion, crown, axles, bushings and wheels. Front tires are Slot.It Zero Grips and rears are NSR Super Grips.

The cars are not the quickest in my stable, but they are silky smooth, stuck down, and fun to drive. The Viper is a little quicker with a 6.687 best and 6.77 median. The Panoz managed a 6.737 and 6.81 (but that is with undersized front wheels and a front axle that has not been height adjusted yet.

Next up are a Fly C5 Corvette, Marcos, and Venturi.

That's awsome you gave some really under performers a new life. FLY cars look amazing but run horrible like they figured how to make the most beautiful cars but forgot they were making slot cars. You should post up some pics of the 3d chassis. I have a C5R just collecting dust. But can't sell it. Its so nice looking. Wish she would at least run decent.
