  • LeMans this weekend!

Ok, who's excited besides me? I'm really looking forward to seeing the race. I pre-shot this for the Slot It Facebook page for this weekend.

I'm usually pumped up and watch as much of the race as possible while listening to Radio Le Mans, but this year I don't see myself putting much effort into it. Only 5 LM P1 entries and 8 LM GTE Pro entries from 3 manufacturers, no Pratt & Miller Corvette Racing and no Chip Ganassi Ford GT's.

I am ready and excited - will be watching as much as I can on Discovery Velocity. This was last year... with a selection of my GT slot cars.

I think that’s great marketing for sure! I bet there will be more than one kid (and big kid) running out to get Carrera track and slot cars.

I love the LeMans race, even with the low number of LMP1 cars this year. The GT classes are my favourite. I will record the TV coverage that is available in Canada (I think Discovery Velocity will carry the full 24 hours) and watch most of it! I was at the track in 2016 - the race that Toyota lost in the final 15 minutes - and love the history of this race and the track. Cheers RvE

Anyone interested in streaming 2020 LeMans Motor Trend is having a special on their app. It’s $2 a month. They will be streaming it live along with qualifying starting tomorrow. I said what the heck, for $24 for a whole year......I’ll get the app. They seem to have some cool stuff to view.

ATTENTION LE MANS FANS! MotorTrend is the EXCLUSIVE SPOT IN THE U.S. where viewers will be able to stream all of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, from qualifying to race end. Sign up for our special offer of only $2 a month for a year, and you'll get all of the action, including qualifying on Thursday, Sept. 17, live race coverage beginning at 7:30 a.m. ET (4:30 a.m. PT) on Sept. 19, and the checkered flag after 24 hours of on-track battle. In addition, fans will be able to view special content prior to and during the Le Mans weekend—part of a vast array of more than 3,200 hours of content available on the MotorTrend App.

I’m looking forward to the race. In a year of “downers”, I’ll take whatever I can get! Even though the LMP class is limited, as long a there is good racing, I’ll be happy. The specialty channel up here in Canada - Velocity is airing the entire race, and my DvR is all set to record and watch over the next few weeks 😉

In case anyone is not aware, great spotter's guide for all of the sports car series (IMSA, WEC, and LeMans) are available for download from Andy Blackmore's Spotters Guide website. I usually print them on 11X17....the resolution and details on the new Spotter's guides is superb.
                        Enjoy the race. RvE

It's interesting how Andy has had to do little inserts of the opposite side of some cars because of the asymmetrical design of the liveries. Lots of great liveries to look forward to in the slot car market, I hope!!

Very unfortunate for the #52 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo: Cristoph Ulrich, Steffen Görig, Alexander racing team. I was tuned in when this happened. 🤬
