New scenic diorama base is pretty much done. I'm sure I'll do a bit more work but for now I'm calling it ready.
I've used some ground foam scatter over a 1" thick insulation base covered with plaster strips. A few cheap Hobby Lobby Poplar trees, JTT brand weeds and sunflowers and generic brand lichen bushes. Those scenic pieces are all technically HO scale but I liked adding them on the small hill to give the background a little "forced perspective".
And BTW, the blue "sky" in the background is just the blue wall that's painted here in my "office", it's not added in Photoshop.
You can see the one I've been using for maybe 10 years now and the new one drying in the sun yesterday. You can see the size difference. The old one is about 2'x4', this new one is 18" x 3' long.
I started the basic work a few months ago but now I'd been inspired to finish it because of the time I've been blessed with. The diorama will be used to take photos of slot cars.
The Shelby sign will remain in the background for cars that are appropriate and is just stuck in place in holes I've cut into the ground.
