  • Scratch built Lotus 40

I kind of have a soft spot for the Lotus 40. It was my first Cox slot car many years ago.

In 132 scale the car is low and hard to stuff a motor in. For this project I built a chassis and kept everything low to allow for an interior, as well as powering it with a 130 type motor. Built as a sidewinder with an H side pan set up, it gets around pretty good. Bearings have been fitted on all four corners

The body is my own resin cast shell made just a little bit wider then the Strombecker car.

I still have to add fuel caps and side windows, but it is almost finished.

I saw the car, in the Eaton Mall in London, Ontario. That is the best 1:1 model you have done so far. Nice work, indeed.
