  • Racing XKE

    I think I got this old Strombecker Jag from William here on the forum.

    Finally got around to making a slot car out of it. Brass and Lego Chassis with the same sidewinder power so all these recent cars run similar

    Opened the wheel wells up a bit to fit some racing rubber. I have wire wheels on order, but as this was built as a racer I will probably keep the wheels as is, as they look the part.

      that came out real nice. That was the black, or red one? The black painted one was rough so if it was that you mastered it big time. KUDOS

        This was the black one. It was a poor molding with heavy mold seams. I had to scape the mold seams off, fill in a couple of sink holes and then sand the whole body down. These early cars were crude, but with some work they can made much more appealing.

          My sentiments exactly......you did a great job and showed again that with a little work the vintage cars look great. Very cool!

            i changed out the front wheels. The bore and small inserts didn’t look so good, so changed them out for something that matches the back wheels.
