  • Proxy Braid type used

I was told by a host of one the Gt3 races that my braid was very stiff. I use sideways thin tinned braid. My question is what do others use as I thought I was using braid much thinner than OEM.

I get mine from SCC. Love this stuff (non tinned). https://www.slotcarcorner.com/1-32-S...Braid-p53.html

I only use Slot.it Competition Copper Braid or the comparable NSR type, it's very flexible and not "springy" as you touch the braid. I find tinned and some other brands too springy causing the car's front end to lift easy when accelerating hard out of a corner for my plastic chassis cars that weigh in the 80's.

Just my opinion for what its worth...……

Similar to Rob I have been using plain copper NSR braid exclusively for many years now. Now if only my proxy results could more closely resemble his...

My rule of thumb is lighter the car, lighter the braid, heavier the car, heavier the braid...but that's just me. Use whatever floats your boat!

            Another vote for SCC braid.
I used to use SCX PRO braid, but that is long gone.
Why doesn't my car run like that?

Another SCC vote here. I used to run the SCC tinned, but found that for proxy racing the tinned was a bit too stiff and susceptible to damage in a hard off.

Looks like I will need to order braid soon and re do front end set ups and braid wire. Thank you all who chimed in.
