Hey Guys ....can anyone tell me what this 45/01 indicates ? I can't believe it's #1 of a 45 unit run ...right ? Scaley wouldn't do a run that small ...would they ?

Car was a special for Model Car Racing Magazine.
One pays enough and I’m sure Scalextric, or anyone, would do a special livery on a body that’s already in production.
Electric Dreams lists the car on their website.

Think it indicates “Build Date” of the slot car.
45 / 01 = 45th Week of 2001.

Much like the date stamp on your 1:1 scale car’s tire.

Think you find the same kind of “sticker” on the bottom of most Scalextric Cases.
Again, indicating when they were made.
The “Part Numbers” are another indicator…the higher the “C______”, the newer it is.

As WB2 states above,....this was a limited numbers of cars (45) produced several years ago for Robert Schleichers' "Model car Magazine",......(buy a subscription, get a car)..........it is not a build date.

Didn't realize this was a limited edition / 1 of 45 pieces.

Okay now I'm really confused , if it's a limited edition run , why do Mark and I both have a sticker listed as 01 of 45 ??

As am I. If the “45” signifies the total production run made back in 2010, then the historical / current eBay market prices for these is seems very low for such a “limited edition”.

if each is listed 1 of .... it gives the person/company room to fudge say 100/200 units. thus more $$ diecast companies have been doing it for years
