Trick to removing MRSlotcar Jag from base?

I feel ridiculous asking this question but Is there a trick to removing an MRSlotcar Jaguar from it’s base?

I don’t remember how I did it, but I remember it being hard to the point I thought I was going to break the car..

I finally got it off. And I did have to use the force to do it. The force of a Dremel to cut through the retaining clip.
