Just to clear up a point, Slot cars use motors not engines.

Yes,you are correct. I should have clarified that I was referring to the actual 1-1 👍

So three different engine configurations were used in the Lola T 70 ? Not counting the mark two and three

All of their success was with a small block Chevy.

Except in Europe where the Chevy's would blow up due to crap gasoline. There the Ford dominated.

And except for Gurney who won with the Weslake headed Ford at Bridgehampton.

Thank you for sticking up for the blue oval.
The Ford four cam Indy engine was used in a few Lolas, too.
And Surtees used an Oldsmobile early on.

McLaren used an Olds in the early Elva as well.

They also tried an Austin Martin engine. But, MOST of the success was with a small block Chevy.

Some also used the Aston Martin engine.

AM engine only used in the coupe by the “factory” team; dismal failure.
Gaugemaster did a very limited edition of the Thunderslot coupe in the green/white Surtees “arrow” scheme in two car numbers. One of the prototypes used an aerodynamic rear window (similar to the Ferrari P3/4) for LeMans.
        Working...
