Might be enough current but 10A would be safer, 20A better yet. Usually cost is not too much more.
Other idea, try it, buy a second one if it doesn't pan out, put one on each lane.
For a two lane track a 6 amp power supply would be just enough for cars with 21.5K RPM motors. I measured 2 amps at 10 volts when the car was just starting up. The car did not have traction magnets, a car with significant magnetic downforce would pull more power and the draw will also go up as the track voltage is increased.
