  • Bruce Strachan Memorial Race 12/11

Many folks here have heard of, and even raced with the Interstate Home Slot Racers (IHSR) on routed home tracks spread out in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The club has been active, VERY active most years, since 1994. The only down year was last year during the height of COVID.

One of the founding members, Bruce Strachan, passed away last month after a long illness.

Although Bruce was a staple in the mid Atlantic home slot racing community, you'd not know him unless you raced with the club. He had little to no online presence in any of the slot car forums.

IHSR's next scheduled event is on Saturday, December 11, in Dauphin, Pa. The track is the former Flying Cow Raceway built by Jim Butt, now reimagined to fit the current owner's space.

We are dedicating the event on 12/11 to Bruce's memory, and acknowledging his contribution to founding and sustaining the club.

If you're one of the hundreds of racers who have been a part of IHSR over the years, or you're in the region and want to see what the club is all about, please consider coming to race with us on 12/11. The link to the website is below. Check out the car classifications for the classes (look at the 2019-2020 rules), but don't worry if you don't have class legal cars, we will have plenty of competitive loaners.
