  • Question for Motor Guys

I only run a few brands of cars. One of these are Slot It LMP. These use their Boxer motor. Is there an aftermarket replacement for this motor with the same dimensions?

There is no replacement for the Flat-6 motor that I am aware of, it has a lower profile than other boxer motors. There are several different versions of the Flat-6 however. If you are looking for a replacement for a regular FK-180 motor there are a large number of choices available. Those can be found listed on the the Slot Car News site: http://slotcarnews.blogspot.com/2007...otor-list.html
I have the list as an Excel file so that it can easily be sorted to get all of the FK-180 motors together.

yes, Fly has a couple that are narrow like the flat 6

When you look at an ad, the flat ones will have what looks like 6 mounting holes on the pinion end.

Slot It primarily made motors of this size, here are the Slot It upgrades.

Fly has Flat 6 sized motors??? I never knew that and I have never seen that. Could you perhaps point me at any information (tech info, reports, online sales, advertisements etc.) on this please?

            Thanks

The flat 6 motors by Slot it also in Sideways group 5 cars are not available through any other supplier. I was told they actually have a copy right on the size, that I am not positive of but I do know no other supplier has them as of right now.

Doesn't Slot It's motor pod have spacers so you can run either the flat or regular motor?

The inline (longcan) and anglewinder Slot-it motor pods have a series of differently positioned vertical motor mount screw holes so you can use either the Flat 6's or the FK180's
